Told in alternating chapters， Nya needs to walk two hours to get contaminated water from an almost dry pond， and Salva walks for years to escape the war in Sudan。 He is what has come to be known as a Lost Boy。 Their stories are gripping but the writing in this short edition is not。 The stories needed to be longer than these short 120 pages in order to do them justice。
